Covid-19 House Viewing Rules

Last week new Government rules were introduced to help limit the spread of the Corona Virus and most importantly to keep us all safe. These new rules introduced state that:
• We should work from home if it is possible
• You cannot meet people from different households
• Those working in hospitality and retail have to wear face masks
• Only 15 people are allowed to attend weddings or civil partnerships in groups of 6
• Funerals will be able to take place with up to 30 people able to attend

However, with the new rules we are seeing an increase in rental numbers, there was also a surge in contract completions ahead of the existing lockdown in March. At Asquith Homes we know that it can be very stressful when you are trying to move house, even more so with the new restrictions in place. Below we have included information on the new rules that will affect your move.

Viewing properties
Customers can still view homes as long as they are not self-isolating or shielding, here at Asquith Homes we are firstly encouraging house viewers, if possible, to do a virtual viewing as this will limit the contact with surfaces within the house and with viewing agents which ultimately will reduce the spread of the Covid Virus. If you would prefer to view a property in person then we ask you to wear a face mask and gloves, sanitising before and after whilst avoiding to touch surfaces inside the property, there also shouldn’t be more than two households inside as we are now not allowing any ‘open days’ so we ask all viewings to be booked by appointment through us.

Making offers
Found your perfect home? The next stage is to make an offer, once the price and dates have been accepted then you will need to plan for moving. Remember, you are liable to setup all the utility bills on this property. Now is the exciting part, arranging removals.

Moving house
At Asquith Homes we know that the process of packing your belongings and moving can be very stressful. Removal firms are still in operation as they are working with safety measure procedures in place to ensure the safety of all customers, you should keep a safe social distance from the removal firm whilst sanitising your hands regularly to keep both you and the removal firm safe. We ask that you book the removal firm as early as possible as they are very busy right now due to the challenging times as there has been a long wait of people wanting to move, where it is possible, we also ask you to package your own belongings and disinfect the boxes as these will be handled by someone else.
